Engaging Stakeholders: A Planning Tool

by on April 16, 2012

MEASURE Evaluation’s Stakeholder Engagement Tool was used in the development of a new tool from Canada’s National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT). The tool, Engaging Stakeholders: A Planning Tool, is the newest edition to NCCMT’s Registry of Methods and Tools. The Registry is a searchable, online collection of methods (processes) and tools (instruments) for knowledge translation in public health.

NCCMT describes the tool:

This tool provides a systematic approach to stakeholder analysis and engagement. Effective stakeholder analysis includes appropriate stakeholders at key stages of an initiative, such that the right people have useful information at the right time to inform decision making. Developed by MEASURE Evaluation, this Stakeholder Engagement Tool is a two-part tool with guiding principles, case examples and an implementation checklist to support groups in analyzing their stakeholders as part of program planning.

The National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT) is one of six National Collaborating Centres for Public Health in Canada. The NCCMT provides leadership and expertise in sharing what works in public health.
