Virtual Certificate Course on GIS Applications in Public Health from PHFI
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is currently accepting applications for an independently offered virtual certificate course on “GIS Application in Public Health” scheduled for September 1 – November 30, 2014. The course, which will be conducted in English, will introduce fundamental concepts of using GIS within the public health context and provide practical experience in the use of open source GIS software and spatially referenced data for effective program management.
The course is designed as a three-month certificate program. The course structure includes a combination of interactive online, computer-based sessions, live interactive sessions, and recommended readings from journal articles and text books, in a modular format. The sessions will be delivered in synchronous and asynchronous modes.
Applications should be submitted to PHFI by July 31, 2014.
