Accurate and timely data from routine health information systems are needed in order to track malaria trends and to monitor health system performance with regards to case management and prevention efforts. This evaluation examines whether the use of improved technologies, including mobile reporting and the use of web-based databases, can help improve the timeliness, quality, and use of routine information. The evaluation used data from a routine reporting system for malaria that was recently established in Mali to examine these issues.
